DIGITAL MAPPING OF CORDOBA TO EXPLAIN CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL
DEVELOPMENT THROUGH THE CENTURIES
Cordoba, Spain
December 2004 Mini-Term Project
The background reading for this year's project was "The Ornament of the World: How Muslims, Jews and Christians Created a Culture of Tolerance in Medieval Spain" by Maria Rosa Menocal. Based on these readings, and some instruction on the concepts, applications, and use of Geographical Information Systems, the students were grouped in interdisciplinary teams to develop maps and web pages related to the history and culture of southern Spain. The following projects were completed by ten students who traveled to Cordoba in December of 2004. Click on the links to view more details about each project.
