Computer Engineering at Union College

Computer Engineering involves the design and implementation of computer hardware and software systems to solve problems. The understanding of both software and hardware allows the computer  engineer to view the design and development of hardware and software as two intimately linked parts of one activity. A computer engineer might be involved in fundamental research, hardware design and fabrication, software system design, or systems integration. Applications of computer engineering can be found in communication systems, the entertainment industry, mobile robot systems, motor vehicle systems and many others.

The Computer Engineering program at Union is offered by the  Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science. It offers students the opportunity to study both the fundamentals and the emerging disciplines in the areas of computer software and hardware engineering.
