Computing and Laboratory Facilities
We are very fortunate to have a number of new and renovated computer laboratories
at Union. Listed below are labs used exclusively by students and faculty in
the EE, CS and CpE programs. There are also engineering division laboratories,
and campus-wide facilities that are open to all Union
students. Most of the labs include projection facilities so that they can be
used for lectures and demonstrations as well as for class and open laboratories. Specific details about computers in the laboratories and documentation
and support can be found at the Engineering
Laboratories web page.
ECE/CS Department Laboratories

The PASTA Lab - N104
The PASTA laboratory was funded by an NSF grant in 1994. It is an open
laboratory of 12 workstations, a file and compute server, used primarily by CS, CpE and EE students and faculty.
It is located in the Northeast wing of the Science and Engineering building.
-
The CS Lab - Olin 110
This room is used both for classes and as an open lab for CS students. It
has 17 workstations and is located on the first floor of the Olin
building.
-
S003
Currently the space includes a machine room with departmental servers and a
room with several computers available for special projects in distributed
computing.
-
N100 - Digital Laboratory and Studio
This lab was renovated in 2004 and includes 8 stations with computers networked with digital
instrumentation. It is used for digital laboratories, special lectures,
and projects.
-
N102 - Circuits Laboratory and Studio
This laboratory has 8 stations with computers networked with digital
instrumentation. It is used for circuits laboratories, special lectures,
and projects.
-
N106 - Project Lab
This laboratory was renovated in 2004 and is equipped with 8 stations that
include computers and instruments for hardware project work. It is used for CpE and EE
capstone design projects.
-
N108 - Systems Laboratory
This laboratory has 6 stations with computers networked with digital
instrumentation. It is used for Systems classes, VLSI and as an open lab
for projects.
